Mohinder or “Moi’ as he is known to a lot of his friends, is really a story of success which just goes on and on. He was born in Punjab more than 40 years ago. After achieving success in India he migrated to California in 70’s. Mohinder graduated from Kurukshetra University in 1967 and did BS. In 1972 from Cal State University at San Luis Obispo and M.S. in 1976 from Redlands University. ‘Mohinder Shoes’ started in 1976 with only $200 specializing in field hockey. It diversified into other products afterwards. In February 1988 he was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. From 1969-74 he set 19 international records in triple jump, including NCAA, Asian and Commonwealth records. He captained Indian Olympic team at Munich, W. Germany in 1972. Mohinder is married to Narinder and both have two beautiful kids, to complete the family which lives in Turlock, California.
