NEW DELHI: The former environment minister Mrs. Maneka Gandhi has been invited by the BBC to be this Year’s key note speaker at the annual debate on ecology.
She will propose the motion that the only way to save the planet is for the west to accept a lower material standard of living at the debate to be held in London on February 13.
According to a statement issued on behalf of Mrs. Gandhi the undp chief Mr Maurice Strong and Mr. John Llewellyan of the oecd will be among the other dignitaries to participate in the debate.
