Chandigarh: The four main panthic groups of Punjab have united to support Justice Bains for the Parliamentary by-election to the Jalandhar constituency.

In a press release issued here the Chief spokesman of Akali Dal (Mann) Iqbal Singh Tiwana thanked Baba Joginder Singh.

Jathedar Kartar Singh Narang, Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, Bhai Virsa Singh Valtoha, Bhai Bhauma, and Bhai Jaswant Singh for their support.

He congratulated these leaders for their far sighted and unique decision which was a step forward in uniting the Sikh community which till now had been pulling in different directions.

The press release called upon the Opposition parties to unite and give a crushing defeat to the Congress Party which had engaged in the oppression of minorities and Dalits, He said that by supporting.

Justice Bains they would be able to have a person in parliament who would be able to enlighten the world community about the Oppressive measures of the congress government in Punjab and the abuse of human rights there.  

The Panthic groups which have united behind Justice Bains are: Akali Dal (Baba). Akali Dal (Babbar), Sikh Students Federation, Sikh Vidyarthi Party and

AISSF (Presidium).

Muslim Support In the meantime, the 50,000 strong Muslim population of Jalandhar has also announced their support for Justice Bains. Calling upon the Muslims to unite behind Bains, the community said, Akali Dal (Badal) which has set up Wadala as its candidate was the same party which blatantly supported ie. BJP and had sent Kar Sevaks help in the de: ‘on of the Ayodhya mosque.

They called upon the Muslim population to whole heartedly support justice Bains who was a courageous fighter for human rights and an intellectual who had sacrificed his comfort to fight against Govt. oppression.
