JALANDHAR: Vetern Sikh freedom fighter Dr Sohan Singh who is one of the five leaders of the militant movement has confounded the Indian intelligence agencies who do not have any idea of his whereabouts.
Standard practice of Brahmanical intelligence is to float rumors with the sole intention of eliciting some response from the man concerned or his associates when the agencies find their target has been lost.
Thus a rumor floated by the intelligence agents in Punjab in the past few weeks was that Dr Sohan Singh had been arrested and that he was in the custody of the police. The aim was to make militants issue a statement about the Sikh leader’s whereabouts. That statement itself becomes a pointer and the intelligence accordingly works out its strategy.
Not long ago a rumor was spread that Baba Gurbachan Singh Manochahal stayed with the then Home Minister Buta Singh. The idea obviously was to discredit the militant leader and to create confusion and distrust among militants.
Similarly at times word is spread about the arrest of some or the other prominent Sikh leader when actually some namesake of the leader is arrested. The unfortunate development in the press here that Dr Sohan Singh ‘was in the US is part of the Indian attempt to find him.
