CANADA: Hello.my name is Colleen Beaumier and 1 am the Liberal candidate for the riding of Brampton, I have just come back from a two day bus tour of the Niagara Peninsula and it has been an exhilarating experience. Our Leader Jean Chretien is in top form and now that the Tories have shown us that they are prepared to deal with the economic problems of this country at the expense of the working poor, Chretien is taking off the gloves and is ready for the fight of his life. Health care will not become a luxury in Canada as it is in the U.S. The elderly will not have to beg in. order to survive. The Liberals have worked long and hard to implement these and other social programs which are the basic requirements of human dignity and we ‘will not stand by and merely watch the Conservatives dismantle them.
‘Certainly costs will have to be cut. Waste and excessive spending must stop. “The Conservatives came to power Vowing to rid the country of the national debt. That was 280 billion dollars ago. They have in ‘creased the debt by over 280 billion dollars and I don’t think that the people of this country have received any of the benefits. Are you living better today than you ‘were in 1984? Just think about it. If you had to make the decision, which would you choose …, Helicopters Or health care?
