TORONTO: A controversial deal that till turn highly profitable Pearson International Airport terminals over to a private consortium will not be finalized until after the federal election, a senior liberal party spokesman says. The Pearson Development Corporation ‘Consortium is acquiring Central of Terminals 1, 2 and 18. Committed to spend $96 million renovating and enlarging Terminal 2 by 1997. Transport Minister Jean Corbeil has stated Canadian taxpayers will benefit from the Pearson deal by collecting more rental income over the life of the deal than would be possible under the Transport Canada management.
