Dear Editor
In Sikh religion, which is the most scientific religion in the word, religion and politics are inseparable, and must go hand in hand. The Hindu govt of India is asking the Sikhs, not to mix religion with politics. According to the renowned Hindus and a teacher of philosophy, Dr. Sarupalli Radhakrishnan (late President of India), “religion includes faith in human brotherhood and politics is the most effective means of rendering it into visible form. Politics is but applied religion.”
It is surprising that Hindus are free to mix their Raja Ram Religion into Ram Rajya politics but its no good for the Sikhs to keep their religion and politics together.
Guru Tegh Bahadur ji gave his life to protect “Tilak and Janjoo” even though he himself never believed in Tikalk Janjoo. This was enlightened Humanism proclaiming equal and racial tolerance. Liberty is a condition for man’s moral growth, and the majority community of India cannot enslave the Sikhs of India. They may martyr thousands of Beant Singh’s, Satwant Singh’s and Kehar Singh’s, but if the Sikhs can break the shackles of oppressive Aurengzeb and the enslaving British, they can equally free themselves from the ungrateful Hindu.
