JAMU, India: The Jammu and Kashmir unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded a probe by a sitting Judge of the Supreme Court into the allegations of Mr. K.N. Singh, General Secretary of the AllIndia Congress Committee (1) that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mr. Arun Nehru had organized political murders and communal riots in the State in 1986 when they were members of the Union Cabinet.
The General Secretary of the party, Mr. Chaman Lal Gupta, told newsmen here that an enquiry by an intelligence agency, as suggested by Mr. Singh, would not satisfy the people.
He alleged that besides, the Mufti and Mr. Nehru, several Congress (D) MPs and MLAs in the State were responsible for communal riots in the State.
