NABHA: J.C.T. Mills, Phagwara, wore TNS crown by overpowering Punjab State Electricity Board 10 in the final of the 15th All India Gurdarshan Singh Memorial Football Tournament here. The mill men had shared the title with Punjab Police last year.
Today’s match was sans glamour as one could not find any outstanding move which could be fitted into a final of a tournament of this stature, There were unwarranted shots which lacked either direction or dazzle, Sprints and techniques were rare in the moves unleashed by both the teams. And calculations by the goal bound forwards never came correct.
The power man dominated the proceedings for the first eight minutes off the start. The mill men then drew the spotlight for the next 10 minutes.
