For the first time Jathedar Manjit Singh sedan Email (electronic mail) to address the Sikh Nation over the internet. He sent a message to the Khalsa Netusinga computer. He urged the Sikhs to follow the Sikh tradition and resolve any differences in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib. His original message was in Romanized Gurmukhi which was later translated into English. Below is a partial text of his message.

“Let all your Gur Sikh families firmly adhere to the Gurbani (teaching of the Sikh Gurus and Guru Granth Sahib) and Sikh Code of Conduct (Baa Naa) and let your children be fully aware of the Sikh heritage; this is my prayer. Protect your families from all kinds of intoxicants, and while following the path of the meditation (naam simran) yourself, urge your families to do the same, this is an edict of the Guru.

This type of wisdom and state of mind is needed in order to achieve an exalted spirit of the Khalsa Panth and Sikh Rule.”

He concluded his message with a prayer for the wellbeing of the entire ‘world and the Sikh Nation, Jatliedar ManjitSingh wasamazed at the speed and efficiency of the computer technology.
