NEW DELHI, India: The Central Council of Jamaat e lsiami of India has appealed to the Indian Government to desist from interference in Islamic laws.
Teheran radio said the appeal had been made at a plenary meet in held in New Delhi.
A statement issued at the conclusion of the plenary meeting of the Central Council said the interference in the Islamic laws would be tantamount to interference Islamic traditions of the Muslim community and that they would never accept any law which may lead to endanger the Islamic ideology.
In the meeting, the importance of Islamic laws and principles in the life of Muslims was explained and a legislative guarantee has been solicited from the Indian Government exempting Muslims from all the laws opposed to Islamic principles.
At the end of the meeting an announcement said that any law against the Islamic principles in India should be changed.
