MADRAS(PTI): Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, Nov.8, described as “ridiculous’ the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ranjan Wijeratne charge that India’s ¢refusal’ to deploy the local army in Amparai district in North East Sri Lanka before the IPKF’S withdrawal was responsible for the recent large scale killings in that district.
Speaking to journalists here, Gandhi said the IPKF withdrawal would be completed once the Tamils were satisfied.
