LONDON. Aug. 6, Reuter: The Indian ship Vishya Apurva sank after a collision with a Greek bulk carrier in the Red Sea today, Lloyds shipping intelligence said.

The 11,179ton Indian vessel broke in two after the collision with the 16,379ton bulk carrier dias and both ships were stuck together for nearly six hours before the sinking, Lloyds said.

The Vishva Apurva’s crew was taken aboard the Norasia Susan which was sailing in the area at the time. No casualties were reported.

The Dias was proceeding at slow speed to Suez, Lloyds said.
