NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh police chief Prakash Singh suspects that Kashmir militants belonging to the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front any have joined hands with Khalistan militants to set up camps in the Terai forest area of U.P. Although “there is no concrete proof , the police are suspicious,” he says in a media interview. Posters and pamphlets suggesting such a development are said to be in circulation and as a preventive measure the state police recently launched a one month operation “Garjan” to evict Sikh and Muslim militants from four districts of Terai namely Bijnore Pauri Garhwal, Nainital anc Haldwant.
The police chief further static that the militant outfits such a Bhindranwale Tiger Force. Khalistan, the Babbar Khalsa ant Saffron Tigers had set up the own intelligence network to keep track of the police movement the area.
