NEW DELHL India, Sept. 14, Reuter: India on Monday blamed recent violence among Sri Lankan Tamil groups on the failure of the militants to hand ‘over all arms under the seven Week old Sri Lankan peace accord. ‘Commenting on the massacre by the Tamil Tigers Separatist ‘group of at least 42 people in the eastern district of Batticaloa over the weekend, an Indian Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
“These incidents could have been avoided if residual arms held ‘by Sri Lankan Tamil groups had been handed over as envisaged in the Indo Sri Lankan agreement”, signed on July 29.
