Press is not for giving news only: its importance lies in coordinating social functions and business growth of the community.

Press & broadcasting is so vital to the community. In fact, the strength of the media dictates the growth of the community. “Knowledge applied is powerful” is my interpretation of the world famous control the press, but GuruLipi is one organization which will support the press by innovating new methods, techniques and searching new markets to make the Gurbani Propagation Press healthy and competitive to the other presses. “Propagation of Gurbani through modern information methods, is the mission of my life”, stated Pal Inder Singh Chahal, the man who innovated the first Punjabi language computer on Dec.5, 1984.

There are thousands of businessmen, writers, singers, freedom fighters, doctors, social reformers and just about everyone who likes to have access to the press, buy many lack good, easy and practical means to make their contribution to the press.

Realising that the media has such a great implication for the growth and propagation of scriptures and culture to coming generations, GuruLipi Computer Systems has decided to support the Sikh Media worldwide, by compiling a Media Database. It is being compiled at international level and is available in computer database format now: later on it will be published in Media Directory format. We like to make it clear to the press: our primary commitment is to the Sacred Gurbani. GuruLipi Computer Systems is marketing its Gurmukhi computers, Gurmukhi/English Software and special information databases.

The beauty of this database, is the moment you put in any IBM or its equivalent (Clone) computer, it will print your labels by country in. seconds, the database is also packaged in blank format in which any business or organization or individual can enter his independent list of addresses. The lists will be separate from each other. One can keep as many 1000 different kind of lists in his system. And it is available now.

This computer database has listings of Gurbani propagation publications: Newspapers, Magazines, Newsletters and Radio and Television Broadcasting networks. This consists of all languages and lands: the main criteria: if they promote Gurbani, they are included in Media Database.

Please enclose publication name, address, editor’s name, frequency of publication, language, telephone/Fax numbers and any other vital message to GuruLipi Computer Systems. So far we have about 50 publications in our database, by the year’s end we aim to reach this number to 100 publications. The International Media Database in computer format is available now.

Presently GuruLipi Computer Systems is requesting the media to help in this great mission. United we stand, divided we fall. Unless we integrate ourselves, we are divided: by distance, ignorance and communication methods. This is the area where GuruLipi Computer Systems will play a major role in spreading the Word of Guru: Gurbani.
