Chandigarh — Gurinder Singh who was captured after a four hour gun battle last weekend, died of his wounds in a government hospital in Chandigarh, joint capital of Punjab and Haryana states.
The Indian Express, the country’s largest English language newspaper, reported earlier that he suffered multiple fractures during police interrogation. It quoted doctors as saying he bore visible signs of torture.
