PATTI: Khalistan Commando Force headed by Bhai Paramjit Singh Panjwar has called upon the peasantry in Punjab to cultivate sugarcane instead of wheat and rice.

The solemn call was issued after a meeting of senior leaders of the K.CF. held somewhere in Amritsar district.

Bhai Panjwar and his associates felt that the cultivation of sugarcane was the Sikhs military and economic requirement, Punjab had a peculiar to pography which was not very favorable for carrying on guerilla warfare and the need of hour was to raise sugarcane to provide cover to Sikh activists. Also, the K.C.F. chief was of the view that a restriction on the supply of wheat and rice was necessary to weaken the enemy country India economically.

The K.C.F. which has grassroots level functioning all over Punjab also asked the farmers of Jallandhar and Hoshiarpur districts to pay special attention to the growing of sugarcane.
