AMRITSAR, Punjab, India: Three militant organizations have sought to deny that they were indulging in innocent killings. They, instead, blamed the Union government for instigating the current eruption of violence in the State. Categorically denying that the Khalistan Commando Force was in any way responsible for the killing of 18 innocent persons of a joint family on Thursday night, the K.C.F., the Bhindranwale Tiger Force of Khalistan and the Gurjit faction of All India Sikh Student Federation charged in separate press statements that the killings were being done by the government to malign the freedom fighters in particular, and Sikhs in general. The statement released by the Lt. General, Malkiat Singh Ajnala of K.C.F. and spokesmen of other two groups, in one of the rooms of the Golden Temple pari karma, claimed that they did not have the heart to kill women and children.
