ONTARIO: The first Sikh Youth Gurmat Camp of Kitchener-Waterloo area in Ontario was held at Kitchener Gurdwara Sahib from July 20-25, with the aim of enhancing the esteem of the Sikh Youth through knowledge of their religion, history and heritage. Seventy boys and girls aged 7-19 years participated. The daily program began with Gurbani Kirtan, Ardas and the Hukamnamas from Guru Granth Sahib. Then classes for different age groups were conducted by Dr. Gurbakhsh Singh Gill, Prof. Pritam Singh Grewal and $.Gurdev Singh Sangha. The schedule included talks by guest speakers, question-answer sessions, games and training in behaving properly while sitting in Sangat and Pangat. No fees were charged. The campers interest in the activities was evident by their desire to extend the camp by one week more. The parents and the Gurdwara Management made praiseworthy efforts for its success.
