MANCHESTER, ENGLAND — REUTER — England soccer captain Bryan Robson was knocked unconscious in a Football Association (F.A.) cup tie on Saturday and doctors decided to keep him in hospital overnight for x-ray examinations.
Robson collided with a defender as Manchester united made an unsuccessful last-ditch effort to avoid a goalless draw with queen’s park rangers in the third round of the cup.
“He had a head and shoulder injury and he was knocked out and concussed,” said United Manager Alex Ferguson.
