JAMMU: Punjab boys and girls Wednesday dominated the proceedings on the opening day of third north zone junior athletic championship by bagging 27 medals including 13 gold’s and 10 silver.
Close on the heels were Chandigarh and Delhi which got 18 each with Chandigarh getting five gold’s seven silver and six bronze medals while Delhi secured six gold’s seven silver and five bronze medals.
However Uttar Pradesh was content with 16 medals with seven gold’s two silver and seven bronze. Haryana also bagged nine medals with two gold’s three silver and four bronze.
Host Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh failed to get any gold in Wednesday’s events. J and K got seven including three silver and four bronze while H.P. bagged one silver and three bronze.
