BOMBAY, India: Veteran Congress leader Kamlapati Tripathi has alleged that the Congress Party has become communal, bribe taking, immoral and has no idea of its duty to the nation. In an interview to the Illustrated Weekly of India, Mr. Tripathi told that he has resigned from the working President ship of Congress (I) and attributed it to the entry of selfish people into the party who only wanted to get benefit from the Congress without giving anything to it or to the nation.
Nobody has anything to do with the people. That is how our contact with the masses has been broken. The Congress has become weak and may one day disappear.
Mr. Tripathi warned the party leadership against the influence of Thakurs, and those who had opposed the Party during the freedom struggle. The Rajas, Mahrajas and the feudal lords were reorganizing themselves within the Congress.
