CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Hukam Singh urged the Centre to provide modern weapons and vehicles to the state police to combat militants.
Mr Hukam Singh claimed that his government had maintained strict vigil in the state and strengthened police surveillance. Subsequently militant activities in Haryana had been curbed.
The militancy had spread to Haryana from Punjab and Pheasan village in Batala police district.
