CHICAGO IL: An active group of Chicago Sikh youth students has dedicated there selves to get organized. The motive is to foster fraternity, share useful information, to help the Sikh community to solidify its foundations, and to socialize within the values of their own culture.

Recently Gurjot Kaur Sidhu with the help of many others and cooperation from some parents, ‘very successfully organized the group’s second annual luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Schaumburg, Illinois on August 8, Nearly sixty Sikh high school and college students attended the function.

The theme of this year’s meeting Amongst the Speakers were Ms.

Betty Lou Reed (Congressman  John Porter’s Executive Assistant) who spoke on politics, Mr, Jaideep Singh Bajaj on Engineering and Mr, Bikram Singh Dhillon on Medicine, Plans were made to further promote this Sikh Youth group which currently meets every other week. On the agenda for the group is a ‘Thanksgiving potluck dinner, a Sikh Youth symposium for high school seniors and college students during Dec. 20 to Dec. 26, 1987, at the Hyatt Regency in Schaumburg again.
