CHANDIGARH: Dr-P.N.Chhutani who headed a sub-committee of Punjab University’s academic council to divide the details of the implementation of Punjabi language as compulsory study up to the college level resigned his post saying he was preoccupied with professional affairs. He however supported the universities decision to introduce Punjabi as a compulsory subject. Dr-Chhuuan it may be recalled had adjourned a meeting of the sub-committee without fixing anew date This led to allegations that he was playing to the tunes of anti-Punjabi lobby in the university.
