TORONTO,  Reuter: Canadian  Egerton Marcus, who fought in the Seoul gold medal final with a broken right hand, joined the list of Olympic Boxers turning professional when the middleweight silver ‘medalist signed on Thursday,

Marcus, will be trained by George Benton, US, promoter Dan Buva announced on Thursday

“George has trained about 15 world champs,” said Duva. “Pound for pound Egerton Marcus is the best amateur in the world, we feel he’ll be a world champion.”

Marcus, a native of Guyana, battled valiantly despite his injury and went the distance in losing a 50 decision to East German Henry Maske in the Olympic final.
