The International Institute of Gurmat Studies Inc., a nonpolitical Sikh organization, has announced its next Sikh International Youth Camp to be held at Yuba City from Dec. 21, 1985 to Jan. 1, 1986.
Popularly known as the IGS, the International Institute of Gurmat Studies has already held 18 Sikh youth camps all over the world including one each at Nepal, Thailand, England, Canada and USA. Through this second camp in the USS., the IIGS plans to reach out to another 100 young Sikh girls and boys of the age 11 to 18 and provide them an opportunity to learn how to live according to the teachings of the Sikhs Gurus and become better citizens of the world.
This 12day Camp, which is being sponsored by the Sikh Temple, Yuba City will be conducted by a 20member trained team of counselors headed by Capt. Kanwar H. Singh, an internationally acknowledged authority on Sikh Youth Camps and founder of the International Camping Movement among the Sikhs. Capt. Singh’s unique contribution to the resurrection of the Sikh spirit amongst the Sikh youth is highly acclaimed the world over.
