BATHINDA: The national general secretary and Rajya Sabha member of the Bahiyjan Samaj Party, Mayawati has warned the Akalis against a political alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

In case the Akalis reached such an ‘unholy alliance,” her party would snap ties with the Shiromani Akali Dal, she warned today.

Addressing, a press conference on fire way to Gidderbaha here, Ms. Mayawati said the Akali Dal president, Parkash Singh Bada, during his meeting with the BSP supremo, Kanshi Ram, had categorically stated that the Akali Dal would not reach a poll pact with the BJP. ‘AS. Karimpuri, state general secretary and MLA, Mohan Singh Fallianwale, Member of Parliament, and Nirmal Singh Nimma, a BSP. legislative, were present at the conference. ‘To a question, Ms. Mayawati said she supported the clauses of the Anandpur Sahib Resolution referring to the demand for the welfare of the downtrodden, She said the BSP would emerge as 4 third force at the Center as there would be a hung parliament during the next general election. To another question, she said the BSP had extended support to the Akalis because of the anti-people political  of the Congress. The Congress always worked against the interests of minorities, including Sikhs, Muslims and the Scheduled Castes.

Referring to the Delhi riots after the assassination of the late Indira Gandhi, she said even after ‘more than a decade, perpetrators of the crime had gone unpunished. She alleged that all “black laws” were aimed at the minorities.
