CALCUTTA: The BJP leader L.K. Advani Sunday said that his party was not making efforts to form any alliance with the Janata Dal (S) although the BJP would enter into electoral adjustment with some regional parties.

Before addressing a meeting near here marking the party’s Jan Jagaran (national awakening) program to mobilize public opinion for building a Ram Temple at Ayodhya Advani said that any alliance with the Janata Dal (S) was unlikely. The BJP would reach seat adjustment with Janata Dal (D) currently a partner of the BJP government in Rajasthan and the Shiv Sena in Maharastra he said.

Stating that nationalism and stability would be the main election planks of the right wing BJP Advani said that the Congress (I) which frequently changed its chief ministers and central ministers should not talk about stability.

For the Congress (I) the word stability had the plausibility at some point of time when the opposition parties offered only coalition government but now BJP with the aim of contesting over 450 seats was offering single-party government at the center he said.
