CHANDIGARH : Mrs. Bimala Kaur Khalsa, widow of Indira Gandhi’s alleged assassin Beant ‘Singh, was arrested along with two others near Batala on April 16. She was arrested while going to a village to address a conference organized by the All India Sikh Student Federation. The conference, however, was held cordoned by the security forces. An estimated 5000 people attended it according to official sources. Meanwhile, Mrs. Bimala Khalsa was released next day on bail.
