By A Staff Reporter AMRITSAR: Satnam Singh Bawa a close associate of Harjinder Singh Jinda of the Khalistan Commando Force who had been presumed dead after the police said he had escaped on January 9, 1988, in an interview said he was kept in Police custody and tortured till when he actually escaped their custody on June 29.
Bawa is a newspaper interview said he was tortured in interrogation centres of the CRPF after police announced he had escaped while he was with a police party sent to recover arms in Amritsar Lopoke border district.
In fact, Ba wa said he escaped at Layalpur Khalsa College in Jallandhar when the police vehicle he was traveling in broke on June 29, Police Chief KPS Gill has denied Bawa’s version.
