CHANDIGARH, India: The Akali Dal (L) Chief Surjit Singh Barnala announced that his party would launch a vigorous campaign to collect 10 lakh signatures on the petition seeking amendment to the Evidence Act. Talking to newsmen, he said that his party would appeal to all democratic people throughout the country to oppose the amendment. This will lead to the harassment of the innocent people who would be required to prove their innocence instead of the State proving their guilt.
