JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir government has banned transfer of government officers in the wake of the election Commission’s decision 0 hold Lok Sabha polls in the sensitive border state.
A communication to this effect has been issued by state chief Ashok Kumar to the director general of police, divisional Commissioners and all the deputy commissioners. All the standing instructions of the election commission on payment out of discretionary grants, model code of conduct and ban on transfer of officers have come into force consequent to the announcement about Lok Sabha elections in the country, including Jammu and Kashmir, it added.
