Chandigarh: The Regional Passport Officer, Chandigarh has sought clarification from the Center regarding issue of Passport to Punjab Chief Minister, S. Sujit Singh Barnala and some of his colleagues. He has sought this clarification in view of an earlier order of the central government requiring the Chandigarh office to cancel their passports and also not to issue fresh passports to them. The passports of Surjit Singh Barnala, Sukhjinder Singh, Basant Singh Khalsa and Sukhdey Singh Dhindsa were cancelled as a follow up action of the central government. Besides them, passports of some M.L.A.S., intellectuals and retired Army Generals were also cancelled. The list includes three retired Major Generals also. So far Center has not responded to the clarification sought by Chandigarh Passport office.
