CHANDIGARH(PTI): Babbar Khalsa Activist and Ideologue, Prof Baljinder Singh, was arrested in Rajpura, while two militants were killed and two others were nabbed in separate incidents in Punjab since Aug.18,
Police said its party led by the senior superintendent of police (Patiala), raided a hotel in Rajpura and apprehended a person who identified himself as Surjit Singh.
During interrogation, the arrested person admitted that he was Prof Baljinder Singh, a lecturer in the Khalsa college, Amritsar and the brain behind the Babbar Khalsa movement, the police said.
Police further said that Prof Singh maintained regular con tact with the chief of the organization, Wadhawa Singh, who is in Bangkok and one Mehal Singh in Pakistan.
Prof Singh was said to have tried to regroup the outfit especially after Pakistan refused to offer further support.
