CANBERRA: Australian cricket captain Allan Border has been awarded the country’s third highest honor for leading the triumphant Ashes tour of England.

Border, who was made a member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 1986, will now become an officer of the order (AO) the office of the Governor General Bill Hayden said on ‘Wednesday.
