AMRITSAR (PTI) Corps: Commander Lt. General B KN Ct denied that the army was withdrawn from the north Indian state of Punjab.
No instruction had been from the center about the drawal of the army which he: would stay in Punjab till it was necessary.
In an informal chat with newsmen he however added that some army units were being replaced to give relief to the Jawans who had been deployed for over nine months.
Punjab has been the Scene of secessionist violence for over ¢ decade. In an effort to curb this Indian government has been forced to deploy the army.
