CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Govt created new posts of Director General of Police (operations) and Additional DGP (Intelligence) besides the induction of 12 senior IPS officers. With the creation of a second past of DGP the state will have after a long time two officers of such high rank. This hints at the indirect dilution of the powers of the DGP now KPS Gill.
The new DGP is likely to be D.S. Mangat the director of the vigilance bureau.
