The U.S. administration is keen on a nuclear-free zone in| south-east Asia so that this potentially dangerous area of conflicts helped to pull out of a possible catastrophe. All main countries except for India are ready to abide by a U.N. resolution calling for a meeting of these counters to discuss modalities of bringing about the Nairee zone. India has been drag in  feet on the issue  it has been willing to hold bilateral talks with Washington on the issue but is reluctant to sit with other nations, The Indian reservation on the issue does not show its peace full intentions. Despite India’s frequent complaints against almost all its neighbors about help by them to various militant movements raging in the country, the fact remains that Delhi has Hege monistic intentions in the region and all the countries in the region are worried. The United States has done well to restrain Russia from supplying to Delhi the deadly rocket technology known as cryogenic engines. Otherwise it does not behave India to purchase each such engine for 4 lakh dollars when the Country is under heavy international debt. Under the circumstances, it is in the interests of the Indian people that India goes slow about its militarization course to match its Hege monistic intentions in the region. A demilitarized south-east Asia will be welcomed by those who want India to end the violation of human rights in the country and to strengthen democracy there.
