Srinager: J&K: The authorities of the Institute of Medical Sciences and Academy of Ars at Srinagar have been receiving threatening letters allegedly written by the AlJehad, a militant organization. The letter to the Institute threatened that its complex would be blown up if Indian Flag was hoisted on it on the occasion of the 80th birth anniversary of Late Sheikh Abdulla. Consequently the birth anniversary celebrations were held under tight security on December 5. The police took possession of the letter and were investigating. Meanwhile the President of the Medical Council of India, Dr. K.K.N. Sinha favored the setting up of Medical Grants Commission on the pattern of University Grants Commission for providing financial assistance to all medical colleges in the country.
