CHANDIGARH: All the three Akali factions—Akali Dal (Mann) Akali Dal (Badal) and Akali Dal Shiromani Akali Dal have merged The party will be headed by Simranjit Singh Mann.
Soon after the merger Mann said the main aim of the party would be to achieve self-determination for Sikhs.
The decision which gave a new direction to Akali politics was taken at a joint meeting of senior Akali leaders which was attended by Simranjit Singh Mann Parkash Singh Badal and Kabul Singh
