GENEVA, April 14, Reuter: About 100 Afghan refugees demonstrated on Thursday against the agreement on a Soviet troop withdrawal from Afghanistan saying it ignored the resistance movement and left the Moscow backed government in power.
Chanting “the Red Army is criminal” and “Gorbachev is an assassin of the Afghan men, women and children staged protest in front of the U.N. European headquarters in Geneva, shortly before the signing of the agreement there.
A police spokesman estimated the crowd at 100 and told Reuters it was dispersed two hours before the ceremony was to begin under the terms of a permit which had been issued.
