Sir,
My family background is farming. It hurts me greatly to see poor farmers suffer badly from artificial disasters created by urban society and its machinery. It may be the alkar Apple disaster of last year salmonella poisoning in cantaloupes this year; who knows what is in store next for poor farmers and farming Labour of U.S.A.
All around the world the farmer is at mercy of natural forces and urban mischievous mind Wheat farmer of Khalistan (Punjab colony of India) Potato farmer of Russia or the cantaloupe farmer of this country is at the mercy of Almighty and the urban irresponsible mind.
Few salmonella affected cantaloupes in restaurants brought havoc to farmers and poor farmer labor thanks to the panic spread by urban society. Who is responsible?
Food and drug control center Atlanta which did no thorough investigation where when and why the fruit was tainted.
What is the responsibility of national/local news media especially T.V.?
In the long run common tax payer has to support the farm families through welfare and unemployment and social services tax.
