Staying at Grand Hotel, Paris, in early 1890, the Maharaja received a stroke of paralysis affecting his left leg and side, and the left half of his face, Two of his three sons, Victor Dalip Singh and Frederick Dalip Singh joined him there, In the meantime, the Maharaja had two heart attacks but still he paid a short visit to Folk stone and, seeing his ailing son, Edwards Dalip Singh, he wept bitterly and loudly” and, on May 1,1893, at Hastings, he breathed his last and was laid’ beside his mother, Naharani Bomba, in Elveden Churchyard.
