UNITED NATIONS(PTI): India has charged Pakistan with promoting terrorism in Kashmir and establishing ‘deepnexus’ between terrorism and narcotic trade to. make it sustainable.
Indian Ambassador to UN M.H.Ansani said Pakistan is making use of every weapon available
in the arsenal of present day terrorism in an attempt aimed at India’s territorial integrity.
He said at the UN on Sept.29 that such an approach to relations with ancighboring country is “contrary to norms of civilized behavior, is self-defeating and certainly not conducive to common well-being.”
Exercising the right of reply after Pakistan foreign minister Abdul Sattar made allegations in the United Nations general assembly, Ansari brought out the “global dimension’ of Pakistani terrorism, saying that India is the prineipal but not the only victim.
In support of his argument, he pointed to reports quoting American officials that some of the men and most of inspiration for bombing of the world trade center in February and second busted bombing conspiracy in June in New York came from Peshawar. “Unleashed a brutal reign of terror and repression in Kashmir in an unconscionable attempts bludgeon the Kashmin people into submission and to thwart their legitimate struggle for realization of their night to decide their own future,” From this “unacceptable premise’, Ansari said the Pakistan government wishes to argue that “that should not only be allowed a free hand to violate with impunity the basic human rights of ordinary citizens, but should also be proclaimed as the protector of human rights of the very militants who are Violating every nonn of civilized existence.”
Ansari said the Pakistan foreign minister is defacing the “lofty forum” of the assembly with “falsehood, prejudice and perversion.”
