PATNA(PTI): At least two per sons were killed when police Opened fire to quell violence by some people during a religious procession at Biharshanf town, headquarters of Nalanda district in the easter Indian State of Bihar, on July 2, officials said,

Home secretary J.L.Aryasaidthe procession took a violent tum when some members started pelting stones at each other. He said the police swung into action to prevent further escalation of violence and opened two rounds of fire killing two persons.

Unofficial reports put the toll at three.
