TARN TARAN: Rajesh Pilot, Union Communication Minister said that the Punjab problem could be solved after the elected government came into power in the state.
Addressing a public meeting on Wednesday in this militant infested town of the border district of Amritsar, Pilot said that steps. for solving the lingering problem would be taken after consultations with the elected representatives of the people of the state. Whom the government, would consult in the absence of public representatives in the state, he asked.
Pilot gave an assurance that the Union govt would extend all type of support to the new government in normalizing the situation and development of the state,
“At present we do not know whom to talk 10.” the minister said while referring to the demands like the transfer of Chandigarh 10 Punjab, which were made by the state Congress I president, Beant Singh, while addressing the gathering.
While reiterating the Centers resolve to go ahead with the elections in Punjab Pilot assured the gathering that once a popular government was formed “the Center would move shoulder to shoulder with the state government and make efforts to settle all outstanding issues.
