SONEPAT: The Haryana government has prepared an ambitious plan to tackle unemployment in the state.

According to official sources, it has also launched a ‘one family one job’ program as it was determined to provide self-employment to five lakh youth in the Eighth Plan. For this purpose the movement has also undertaken the plan which seeks to explore employments avenues in sectors like agriculture, horticulture, industrial training, electronics, transport, tourism, dairy, animal husbandry and fish farming.

The government had constructed 2.642 houses, costing Rs 3.5 crore in rural areas under the Indira Awas Yojna by the end of March 1992 It has also set up 656 wells costing Rs6.90 crore under the million wells scheme under the Jawahar hozgar Yojana. These would benefit scheduled castes families. As many as 277 rooms in various schools have been constructed.

Regarding the Integrated Rural Development Program (IRDP), a sum of Rs 100.64 crore has been spent to benefit 5.20 lakh families from 1980 up to March last year. A total investment of Rs 230.60 crore has been made including a subsidy of about Rs 75.80 crore and loan of Rs 154.70 crore as per the Center’s instructions.

Families belonging to the scheduled castes have increased the 49% in the year 199192. Similarly, the coverage of women beneficiaries has also increased to 42%.
