PUNE: Two hundred and eleven persons were hospitalized when they started vomiting and complaining of giddiness after drinking a beverage (sherbet) at Khadaki, a suburb of Pune in Maharashtra state.

About 300 persons have been affected.

The victims were affected soon after they drank the beverage to mark the end of the day’s fasting during the month of Ramzan at the Jumma Masjid in Khadaki Bazar.

Seventy six victims were admitted to the Sasson General Hospital,
